Job Description

Phoenix Gas is currently seeking a qualified candidate for 1 Full Time Administration Assistant position. The successful applicant will assist our Gas Utility Division.

The successful applicant must be outgoing and dynamic with strong communication and organizational skills to work successfully with our valuable members, customers, and staff.

Our office hours are 7:00am – 4:00pm Monday through Friday. Closed from 12:00 – 1:00 pm for lunch. Wages and benefits will be discussed during the interview process.

General Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly utility billing
  • Enter payments and complete bank deposits
  • Process invoices as necessary
  • Direct all incoming calls promptly and accurately
  • Respond to and forward customer requests as required
  • Enter documents electronically
  • Assist with special meeting preparation
  • Receive and forward mail and courier packages
  • Coordinate daily activities with management
  • Monitor and schedule employee training requirements
  • Update company manuals
  • Maintain Utility accounts, open new accounts, transfer utilities, complete contracts, and update files
  • Experience with Spin2, Abadata and/or Alberta One-Call an asset

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational management skills with a detail-oriented skill set.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience working within specific policies, rules & regulations as well as tracking of changes to documents
  • Ability to problem solve and work within a team as well as complete tasks independently within a busy environment
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionally interact with employees, management, and the public
  • Experience in an office setting is required
  • Post-secondary Diploma an asset

Job Description

Phoenix Gas is currently seeking a qualified candidate for 1 Full Time (or seasonal) Equipment Operator.

This position is suitable for someone with small equipment experience. Although not a must, an individual who holds a Journeyperson Certificate for a Gasfitter A or B would have an advantage over other applicants.

Remuneration based on experience and industry standards. Phoenix Gas Co-op Ltd. offers an excellent compensation and benefit package commensurate with experience.

General Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment such as a trencher, directional drill, and excavator
  • Assist with loading and unloading of equipment
  • Inform and advise the management or repairmen for major repairs or maintenance
  • Work with Utility Field Staff and assist with job prep and completion
  • Perform other duties when assigned
  • Must be able to preform basic PMI’s, daily checks and maintenance, miscellaneous repairs, and troubleshooting

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must be competent operating an excavator, trencher, hydro vac
  • Must hold a valid Class 5 Operating Licence
  • A valid Class 1 Operating Licence would be a valuable asset
  • Experience operating a directional drill a major asset
  • Capable of lifting and carrying heavy materials
  • Adherence to safety regulations a must
  • Adhere to company work policies and condition
  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • A keen eye to details and good decision-making skills
  • Ability to complete work projects on time and in an effective manner
  • Willingness to take on new responsibilities and openness to learn

Job Description

Phoenix Gas is currently seeking a qualified candidate for 1 Full Time Journeyman Gasfitter A or B or Gas Utility Operator. The successful applicant assist with providing gas distribution & maintenance to customers within our area. This area includes our “North” area – Wainwright (Chauvin) and our “South” area – Village of Alliance and the Hamlet of Galahad.

General Responsibilities

  • Install gas mains including new services
  • Install and maintain cathodic protection
  • Locate underground gas systems
  • Leak detection and gas line repair
  • Routine gas system maintenance to include gas meter maintenance
  • Operate and maintain regulating, measuring, and odorizing facilities
  • Operate equipment used for installing, exposing, and repairing gas line
  • On call rotating schedule
  • Maintain all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Maintain and keep a clean service truck and assist to keep shop clean
  • Maintain good relations with co-op members & customers

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must have a valid Gas Utility Operator Certificate/ Red Seal Journeyman Ticket or enrolled in Alberta Apprenticeship program
  • Must hold a valid Class 5 Operating Licence
  • Capable of lifting and carrying heavy materials
